Students in the Fair Lawn High School AP Environmental Science class taught by Mrs. Rios, recently attended a field trip to the Bergen County Utilities Authority to understand waste management and its effect on the environment.

Students in Mr. Cohen's class research, designed, built, and then erupted volcano models in class.


The Governor’s STEM Scholars is provided at no cost to participants. It is open to New Jersey-based students who will be entering 10th grade in the Fall of 2024 through doctoral level, who have a proven passion for STEM, and a GPA of 3.5 or higher. The application will close at 11:59 p.m. on Friday, June 14, 2024. All applicants will be notified by September 2, 2024 of their status.

Students in Ms.Patel's 5th grade science class determined that air does in fact hold weight! They used Air Zooka Cannons to determine how the distance between an object and air released from the cannons effects how the object falls.



Students in Ms. Haumersen's 7th and 8th grade Science class explore volcanic eruptions using soda and Mentos. This is one of many physical models students created by hand to learn about geological processes and how the Earth changes over time.



Students in Mr. Cohen's grade 7 class at Memorial explored how sunlight is used by seeds during a hydroponic lesson.


Superintendent Dr. Dionisio holds a new Fair Lawn Schools plaque which was constructed by FLHS student, Reina Castro in her engineering class with Ms. Angiuli. She designed the logo using online tools and she fabricated it with a 3D printer and our laser etcher.

Fair Lawn Schools hosted their second FAMILY STEM NIGHT last night. Our sixth grade students returned to their schools with their families and participated in various STEM activities led by some of our Middle School STEM teachers.




Last night, Fair Lawn fifth grade students were invited back to school to participate in FAMILY STEM NIGHT. They participated in engaging science, technology, engineering and math activities with their families. MS STEM teachers hosted, and FLHS STEM Club students helped out.
Sixth grade students in Fair Lawn study weather and ecology. In these photos Mr. Hahn's students brought their investigations outdoors into nature.


FLHS was proud to host @usbands Indoor Percussion competition! Shout out to our FLIP team, Director Szeinberg and all our amazing Band and @FairLawnFOM parents! We looked and sounded awesome!

Attention Grade 5 and 6 Families: Grade 5 and 6 students enrolled in Fair Lawn Schools ar invited back to their middle school with their family to experience Science, Technology, Engineering and Math activities. Students at TJMS explored their nervous system through various activities such as testing reaction time, puzzles, and brain teasers. These lessons took place during the "body systems" unit of 5th grade health and were organized by Ms. Howe, Mr. Gogerty, Mr. Samra & Ms. Wood.
