Congrats FLHS Model UN team! We did well at the competition at Bergen Academies! Kevin Bach, Best Delegate. Aashika Jagadeesh, Julia Yankow and Jonathan Murray, Honorable Mention.

This morning a ribbon cutting ceremony was held at FLHS. In memory of our beloved Fair Lawn Bus Driver, Gerry Genuino, who passed way in 2021, FLASE partnered with Lori Rocconova, Fair Lawn Transportation Director, and raised funds in memory of Gerry. With those funds, a beautiful garden was created at Bergen Ave., a koi pond refurbished at the high school, and today, two kitchen carts on wheels with a multitude of supplies were donated to the MMS and FLHS Bridges classrooms. The students will be able to share this kitchen on wheels and remember Gerry’s love for them, as well as his love for cooking. It was our honor to wrap up the proceeds from this fundraiser to the classes Gerry loved spending time with. FLASE would like to thank the administration for allowing this all to come together, Mrs. Rocconova for including us in this beautiful tribute fundraiser that has given our students so much, and all those that helped and participated in our fundraiser. Gerry Genuino had a heart of gold and he will forever live on in the hearts of all those whose life he touched.

The Forrest School PTA hosted a fun Pizza/Bingo Night on Thursday, February 2nd. The fundraiser was extremely well attended, thank you for your continued support.

Memorial Middle School continues to celebrate and honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with the construction of our Dream Towers as we continue our “Do Something Challenge”. Students and staff used this opportunity to have meaningful conversations and to reflect on what it means to drive positive change through the power of connection. We have already received hundreds of clouds, with each cloud representing the dream of a Memorial student or staff member, and more clouds are still being added.

Congrats to our FLHS CUTTERS Basketball teams! Both won their county tournament games yesterday! Our girls won at Ramsey and our boys beat Rutherford on our home court. Good luck in the next round! Go Cutters!
