🎉 Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month at Fair Lawn High School🌟 As Hispanic Heritage Month comes to a close, we couldn't be prouder of the incredible event organized by our Spanish AP students and our Hispanic Honor Society at FLHS! 📚🌎 They brought our school together to celebrate the rich diversity and cultural contributions of the Hispanic community in a unique and interactive way - through a Hispanic Heritage Living Museum! Huge thanks to all the amazing students and dedicated teachers who made this event a success. 🙌❤️ Let's continue to celebrate and appreciate the beautiful tapestry of traditions, languages, and stories that make up the Hispanic heritage. 🌟💃🎶

On June 19th, select student leaders were invited to engage in a Juneteenth field trip. Students traveled to three different locations: the African Art Museum of the SMA, the Morris County Courthouse, and the Gethsemane Cemetery. Students actively learned about their community's history and cultivated a greater appreciation for African American culture.

Fair Lawn High School celebrated and commemorate Juneteenth with a day filled with focused workshops. Some of our highlights were a music concert, a Juneteenth museum hosted by the FLHS Bridges classroom, a Juneteenth escape room, a school wide art project, and a Juneteenth Walk-a-Thon where students took 1,865 steps for freedom. In addition, our childcare and selected Interact students visited 2 of our elementary schools to read aloud a book and donated Juneteenth books to all the elementary libraries.
