Eighth graders at Memorial visited the Holocaust Museum & Center for Tolerance and Education at Rockland Community College for a day of learning and reflection. A special thank you to Mr. Khoudja for organizing such a wonderful experience, and Ms. Lipke for hosting our students and providing a personalized tour of the museum. Students also participated in an outstanding Moral Courage workshop, led by Ms. Suss, which challenged our students to ask themselves, "What would you do?" and to "Become a Truth Seeker".
We look forward to returning again next week with another group of Memorial 8th grade students.

Bergen County Prosecutor, Mark Musella visited Radburn School during our D.E.A.R. Time (Drop Everything And Read) celebrating Read Across America. He answered questions and shared an inspiring story with our third graders about always trying your best.
Our Milnes PTA hosted a Winter Family Fun Night with activities such as skating, dancing, and enjoying yummy treats. There was a DJ with music and the students all had blast! Thank you Milnes families for supporting your PTA. They continue to bring fun activities for all of us.
Read Across America Week concluded at Westmoreland, Lyncrest and Forrest Elementary Schools with special, alumni guest readers from Memorial Middle School. It was nice to see so many students who have "moved up"- coming back to volunteer their time at their elementary schools. Thank you to the Junior National Honor Society Advisors at Memorial Middle School for organizing this annual reading event!
Milnes ended Read Across America week with our One School, One Book reveal. Kate Nafz, the Fair Lawn Children's Librarian, came dressed the part and even read a bit of the first chapter of Beverly Cleary's - The Mouse and the Motorcycle.
NJSIAA Girls State Wrestling - Dalia Tsyrlin becomes the first girl to place in the state for the program.
She came into the tournament as the second to last seed and ended up placing 5th. Her only two losses came from the returning state finalist.

Lyncrest School celebrated National Read Across America Day with a PTO sponsored green eggs and ham breakfast! We even had a visit from the Cat in the Hat, who impressed us all with his fabulous dance moves! Thank you to the Empress Diner for donating the green eggs!

On Friday February 24th, Forrest School had a chance to Let the Good Times Roll and celebrate the holiday of Mardi Gras. Students had a parade in the hallways wearing handmade masks. This was followed by stops along the route to engage in various activities such as coloring, music, crafts, and a mini scavenger hunt.

In an effort to spread kindness during Random Act of Kindness Week (Feb 14th - Feb 20th) our TJ School Counselors organized interactive 'cups of kindness' and 'compliment cards' for students to participate in spreading smiles to students and staff throughout the week!
Each year Cupid makes a special visit to TJMS students bringing endless smiles to the faces of our students. Students were greeted at school with a special treat, smile and were able to spot Cupid all day long making it an extra lovable Valentines Day!

Author, Karen Kaufman Orloff, visited Milnes today. She read her famous book - I Wanna Iguana and held a writing workshop with each grade level. Thank you to our fantastic PTA for sponsoring the author's visit.
