Fair Lawn High School students had fun with our Spring Spirit Week! Theme days included Fair Lawn Apparel, Disney Day, Country vs. Country Club, Adam Sandler Day and Decades Day. Our administrators also joined in on the fun!

Congrats to the FLHS National English Honor Society inductees! We appreciated the words of Mr. VanCuren and the student officers. Duty comes before Honor!

Our 1st grade students had so much fun at their first Manners Monday. Thank you to our parent volunteers for helping to make this such a memorable event for our students.

MEVO (https://www.mevo.org/) Mahwah Environmental Volunteer Organization visited Radburn School today to teach students about honeybees and their importance to our world just in time for EARTH DAY!

Lyncrest recognized Children with Alopecia Day! Madison is a sports-loving, super smiley third grader at Lyncrest. She loves to run track, play soccer and basketball, and her favorite color is rainbow. Something else that makes Maddie unique is that she has Alopecia Areata, a condition that causes her body to fight her hair follicles. Our PJ Day today raised over $600 and Popsicle Sale raised over $275, which will be donated in support of Maddie to the National Alopecia Areata Foundation. Here at Lyncrest, we respect and appreciate all of our differences. We are the Lyncrest Stars, each one of us is truly unique! For more information visit: https://www.naaf.org/

Mr. Norcia and Radburn fourth graders greet Charlie, the therapy dog. Charlie stopped by Radburn School on Friday to meet with students. He brought many smiles to the faces of all he met!

Milnes held their annual Field Day event today and we couldn't have asked for better weather. Students were able to showcase their abilities in various activities such as stacking, throwing, running and so much more! We cooled off with ice pops donated by our wonderful PTA.

During Thursday's induction ceremony, sixteen students were welcomed as the newest members of the Memorial Middle School Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society. Congratulations, students and families, on this tremendous honor.

The beautification of the Forrest School grounds is in full effect thanks to our amazing Building and Grounds Department. We are in the process of replacing many of our older bushes and flowers with new shrubs and perennial plants.

In honor of Autism Acceptance Month, Westmoreland School was honored to host Ms. Melissa Petrillo, author of the children's book "Sometimes". Ms. Petrillo's powerful message, "inclusion starts with me", provided the perfect lesson to coincide with our monthly focus. Thank you to the Westmoreland PTO for sponsoring this experience for our students!

Safe Schools Pedestrian Safety Program presented to Radburn students today. Keeping our students safe in and out of school!

Congrats to FLHS senior Rebecca Peisach! Rebecca was recognized as a 2023 "Unsung Hero" by the Bergen County School Boards Association. Rebecca was honored alongside other county students who make their school a better place simply by being in it. We are proud of you, Rebecca!

Memorial students and staff once again answered the school's motto, "Enter to Learn, Go Forth to Serve" as they competed in the Penny Power challenge. Students and staff participated to see which homeroom could collect the most pennies.
Congratulations to Mrs. Eckel's 7th grade homeroom who collected over $240 in pennies!
When the pennies from all homerooms were combined, Memorial was able to generously donate $1,238 to Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon. Mrs. Krutchkoff visited Memorial on Friday during the annual Hoops for Humanity event to accept the donation on behalf of all the volunteers at Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon.
Well done, Memorial Falcons!

And the winner for Milnes Munch Madness is......... CHIPS!
Milnes School collected over 208 snacks to donate to the Fair Lawn Food Pantry after a contest between chips, goldfish, pretzels, and fruit snacks. We thank our students and families for their continued support!

Fair Lawn Public Schools will be closed April 3-7, 2023 for Spring Break. Schools reopen on Monday, April 10, 2023! We wish you a relaxing time off!

Congrats to our FLHS Spanish, French and Chinese Honor Society inductees! Thanks to advisors Ms. Cernadas, Ms. Shoemaker, Ms. Paleos and Ms. Yang, Supervisor Ms. Lopez, our student officers, and musicians!

On Thursday, March 30th, at Thomas Jefferson Middle School, a check signing ceremony was held for this year’s initiative; The Class of 1993 Taormina Foundation. Deputy Chief Phillip Taormina was the loving husband of our 2022 – 2023 NJ Governor's Educator of the Year, Mrs. Renee Taormina, a devoted father to his children, a 27-year veteran of the East Rutherford Police Department and a leader within his community, Phillip was diagnosed with an aggressive form of liver cancer in June 2022. Treatment was not possible due to medical complications and, tragically, he passed away on July 27, 2022. Phillip was a graduate of Becton Regional High School in East Rutherford where a scholarship has been established in his name for students who serve their community and are pursuing a career in law enforcement, EMT, military, or cybersecurity. Thank you to the families and students for their generosity. With your support for the TJ Cares Volleyball tournament, snack sales and faculty bake sale, along with other outside fundraisers, at least 20 years of scholarships have been raised. A special thank you to the entire Physical Education Department for organizing and competing in the volleyball tournament itself. Thank you all for continuing Phil’s motto in life by helping others even when no one is looking.
