Dear Henry B. Milnes Families,

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year!  It is my sincere pleasure and honor to be a member of this amazing school community.  I am truly committed to academic excellence and all the community has to offer its growing families. Fair Lawn is a wonderful town full of opportunities for our children to grow and fulfill their dreams. At Henry B. Milnes, we will continue to provide a safe, nurturing environment committed to student achievement. We will continue to collaborate with the families, children, P.T.A., and dedicated staff to provide the best possible educational program for our students.

           At Milnes, our focus is the whole child. We will continue to provide each child with new challenges that will result in a rewarding school experience. We offer a rigorous curriculum aligned to the Student Learning State Standards that focuses on balanced literacy. We will continue to develop our literacy skills through the Readers and Writers Workshop models.  We will continue to build student experience in mathematics to ensure growth in their achievement. The devoted staff will continue to receive professional development to further enhance this program within the school. We will continue to incorporate Social Emotional Learning (SEL) into our daily lessons and collaborate with Care Plus to provide our students with the best possible care. 

As we begin the school year, please remember this is your school and we welcome your involvement. You are encouraged to play an active role in your child’s education both at home and in school. Please continue to maintain contact with teachers and staff members to establish a successful home/school connection.  Your participation in various school activities such as, Back to School Night, and parent/teacher conferences, along with involvement through the P.T.A. impact the success of all children and offer opportunities for friendships to form.
