Fair Lawn Public Schools

On Friday February 24th, Forrest School had a chance to Let the Good Times Roll and celebrate the holiday of Mardi Gras. Students had a parade in the hallways wearing handmade masks. This was followed by stops along the route to engage in various activities such as coloring, music, crafts, and a mini scavenger hunt.

In an effort to spread kindness during Random Act of Kindness Week (Feb 14th - Feb 20th) our TJ School Counselors organized interactive 'cups of kindness' and 'compliment cards' for students to participate in spreading smiles to students and staff throughout the week!

Each year Cupid makes a special visit to TJMS students bringing endless smiles to the faces of our students. Students were greeted at school with a special treat, smile and were able to spot Cupid all day long making it an extra lovable Valentines Day!

Author, Karen Kaufman Orloff, visited Milnes today. She read her famous book - I Wanna Iguana and held a writing workshop with each grade level. Thank you to our fantastic PTA for sponsoring the author's visit.

Forrest School welcomed author and screenwriter Marlyn Bandiero to read her book Dante's Cool Wheels to our kindergarten and 1st grade students. The students loved to learn all about Dante's life and how he inspired hope and courage for so many people.

Today author, Ada-Ari visited Radburn School to share her children's African Folktales. She shared her book, A Spider's Thin Legs, as well as artifacts from her country. Thank you to our PTA for supporting this assembly and opening up the children's world!

Happy President's Day! Schools Re-open on Wednesday, February 22, 2023

In conjunction with the Super Bowl, Milnes collected 702 cans of food from our families. The items collected will be donated to Fair Lawn’s Food Pantry. Milnes School continues our focus on educating our students with valuable life skills by developing an appreciation for our community through character education. We thank our students and families for their continued support!

Radburn School celebrates Mardi Gras with a collaborative effort from French teacher, Becky Kazimir; Music Teacher, Stephanie Beaudoin; and Physical Education teacher, Harvey Egan for a fun afternoon of songs, dances and colorful masks created by the students. Each student also created a piece that will be put together to create a sign in French which translates, "Let the good times roll!" Our fourth graders performed a rhythm stick play along which was OUTSTANDING! Thank you and terrific job to all!!

Memorial Middle School was so grateful to host community members from the Fair Lawn Senior Center for our annual "Valentine Brunch and Conversation Cafe". Students from Celebrate America and Student Council, along with club advisors, Mrs. Kuipers, Mrs. Geib, Mrs. Nizza, and Mrs. Zarwi, spent the morning with our guests and enjoyed a delicious brunch from A Family Affair generously donated by Fair Lawn For All Ages. Special thanks to Lisa MacClements (FLFAA Coordinator), Donna Neill and Karin Krankel (FL Senior Center Directors) and Liz Twiggs (FL Human Services Director) for making this event possible.

Memorial Middle School students received a special Valentine’s Day surprise from the PTO. First thing this morning, all students received a friendship bracelet with an important reminder that “our school would ‘knot’ be the same without you!” Thank you, MMS PTO, for making Valentine's Day so sweet at Memorial Middle School!
