Fair Lawn Public Schools Academic Approach
Unite around shared values and commit to enhancing social, emotional, behavioral, and academic learning for all students.

Fine Arts
Artistic ability is built upon an understanding of the elements and principles of art. This is a sequential process that continues in an uninterrupted flow throughout each grade in elementary school and beyond.
English & Language Arts
The mission of the Fair Lawn English/Language Arts Department is to foster a passionate, artful, and collaborative approach to rich literary content and standards-based literacy instruction with strategy-based differentiation, analytical thinking, and real-world authenticity.
Health & Physical Education
Physical education is an important part of every student's development.
Health education helps students' life-long skills and content to remain healthy.
Math
Remember to save your Proof of Purchase and turn it into your math teacher so our school can earn free educational technology and teaching materials.

Music
At the K-5 level students will be introduced to musical concepts such as steady beat, rhythm, melody, dynamics, tempo, and movement.
In the middle and upper grades students will continue to advance and refine the previously learned musical concepts.
Science
At the Fair Lawn Public Schools, we believe you should be informed regarding our effort to create and maintain a safe science classroom learning environment. With the cooperation of the administration, teachers, parents, and students, a safety instruction program can eliminate, prevent, and correct possible hazards.
Elementary Technology
Students in grades K-4 at all six elementary schools attend Technology class once a week for a 34-minute session. The elementary curriculum is tailored to each grade level and comprises three major areas: computer application skills, coding, and digital citizenship.
