The third grade authors of the WONDERFUL WESTMORELAND NEWS who wrote the December article, "Life in Fourth Grade" drew the attention of District Science Supervisor Ron Durso and Elementary Science Specialist Lindsey Zarwi who were excited to meet with them and learn more about their inspiration for the article. Together with members of the fourth grade class, the authors shared their purpose for the article. They wanted to tell the whole school that the fourth grade classes learn about crayfish. They were excited to hear that the third grade class would soon learn about tadpoles. The fourth graders shared the excitement in learning about what crayfish eat and how they live. The students shared their career aspirations to be future scientists authors. Literacy and science overlap! Congratulations to Ms. LeGrand and her student newspaper authors!
