EMERGENCY CLOSING INFORMATION
October 2006
Dear Parents, Students, Faculty:
With the unpredictable fall and winter
season approaching, we wish to once again inform you about the process
of notification we will use if schools are to be closed or if there is
to be a delayed opening.
Decisions to keep schools open, delay
the opening time, or close schools for the entire day must be made by
5:45 A.M. in order to make appropriate transportation arrangements and
give timely notification. Thus, decisions are based on what is
known and anticipated no later than 5:30 A.M.
Due to time requirements established
by the State Department of Education, it is necessary to have a
minimum of four hours of instruction on a daily basis. In order

IMPORTANT NOTES
DO NOT CALL THE FAIR LAWN POLICE
DEPARTMENT.
It will be the general practice to keep
schools open if at all possible and reasonable. Parents must
exercise their own good judgment as to whether or not they send their
children to school when schools are kept open during inclement
weather.
It will be the general practice to keep schools open if at all
possible and reasonable. Parents must exercise their own good
judgment as to whether or not they send their children to school when
schools are kept open during inclement weather.
We try
not to close early for inclement weather once children
have reported to school except under extraordinary circumstances.
If you have any questions regarding the above modified schedule,
please contact my office at (201) 794-5500 x7003
