The K-12 Social Studies program is designed to prepare all students so that they may function as responsible citizens and contributing members in our democratic society, and in the global community of the 21st century. Concepts such as global consciousness, cultural awareness, human rights, and political and social responsibility are promoted through literacy initiatives and skills based curricula. It is expected that students will develop the skills necessary to become critical thinkers, and become proficient in oration, writing, and the use of technology.
